National Achievement Awards 2007/2008

The aim of the National Achievement Awards is to encourage and inspire people to develop better services that result in easier access and high quality care for patients and to promote pride among staff in relation to our services. The awards aslo aim to highlight the many achievements that take place across a range of staff groups and teams, services and locations, so that we can celebrate success and promote shared learning for the benefit of other services.

The Awars Scheme consitsts of five major events - on in each HSE Administrative Area and a National Award ceremonty. The four area evetns took place in November 2007 and award winners were selected under the following categories.

2.Better Place to Work                                                                       

3.Leadership Awards

4. Quality & Safety Awards

5. Popular Choice Awards

A total of 82 awards were presented in 2007.

A National Achievement Awards Ceremeony, to celebrate the winners from the Area Achievement Awards, will take place on 30th April 2008 in the Mansion House, Dublin.

The National Event will bring all area award winners together at one event. The event will be used as an opportunity to highlight the work that the HSE and related organisations are doing in their areas to promote the development of better services.

Overall winners from the Better Place to Work, Better Service Awards, Leadership Award, Quality & Safety Awards and a Poster Competition will be announced and celebrated at the event on 30th April. An overall National winner will also be announced; the winner of this award will receive the Derek Dockery perpetual trophy for their organisation.

The Health Service National Partnership Forum has worked actively with the HSE as a partner in this project.
