The Health Services National Partnership Forum and the Health Services Achievement Awards

In his foreword to Working to Our Advantage – A National Workplace Strategy, An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern TD states that "currently, our most adaptive employments are those where 'bundles' of complementary work practices are deployed – team working, information sharing, consultation and meaningful involvement, training and learning, performance management, employee financial involvement and work/life balance arrangements. Many of these approaches can be described as participatory or 'high involvement' and there is a high correlation between these practices and job satisfaction, low staff turnover rates, high productivity and the successful adoption of new technology and innovation."

The Health Services National Partnership Forum (HSNPF) vision is "To assist health agencies in the deepening of workplace partnership to achieve highest quality service, care and working arrangements, by continuous improvement through management, staff and trade union collaboration".  HSNPF continues to endeavour to achieve this vision through the hard work of partnership committees at LHO and hospital level and through a partnership approach to the development of primary care teams across the country.

In sponsoring the HSE Achievement Awards, HSNPF echoes An Taoiseach's belief that achievement and innovation will result from a workplace culture of consultation, participation and meaningful involvement.
